As per the new price hike, the base model Astral is now Rs 3.54 lakh ex-showroom. The mid-variant i.e. the dual-tone Interstellar will now set you back by Rs 3.69 lakh. However, the top-spec fully loaded cruiser variant Celestial will cost Rs 3.84 lakh ex-showroom. So, if you opt for any of these, the Super Meteor will cost you upwards of Rs 4 lakh on-road; depending on the state you get it registered in.
Super Meteor is the flagship model by RE internationally as well as in India. It is a proper low-slung heavy cruiser bike. It takes its inspiration from west-style cruisers like Harley or Indian. But, RE has finally given its texture in the Super Meteor in small design details. It looks like a bigger Meteor 350 in every angle. Also, it is based on the same platform as that of the Interceptor 650. But, RE has tweaked its chassis to elongate the space on it. Also, the low ground clearance is well supported by stiff USD front suspension & duals-spring rear suspension.
Super Meteor uses the same engine as seen on the Continental GT 650. It is a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled motor. This engine makes 47 bhp of peak power & 52.3 Nm of peak torque on the Super Meteor. Also, the slick 6-speed transmission is aided via a slipper-clutch as well. Its features include LED lights and a semi-digital instrument console with Tripper navigation as standard.
Verdict
The Super Meteor 650 is currently the flagship bike from RE. However, RE has plans to introduce new models in the 650cc lineup. The upcoming models will include Shotgun 650 that is expected to launch by October 2023. It'll be based on the Super Meteor but it'll offer a different design and riding posture.
