Super Meteor Cruiser Bike Details
Since the news broke out that RE is bringing a new 650, the Super Meteor was the most speculated model. However, it made its debut at the EICMA'22 where it drew the attention of world media. Speaking of its design, as its name suggests, it takes inspiration from the Meteor 350 itself.
However, as RE has planned to put the 650cc power plant on it, it gets bigger dimensions. At 241 kg dry weight, it is also the heaviest RE bike ever sold. Meanwhile, its design refers to the old-school low-slung cruisers with laid-back riding posture. The wide tubular handlebar and the front set footpegs make up for a comfortable riding posture.
Additionally, RE has also equipped it with the latest features. At the front, it gets an LED headlight with USD front suspension. Also, the Solo Tourer version gets 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Meanwhile, the solo tourer gets a single seat while the Grand Tourer version gets a split seat setup along with a pillion backrest. At the rear, it gets a round LED taillight similar to the Meteor 350. Also, the twin exhausts are new in design.
Technically, it uses the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor 650. However, its power and torque have been tuned to cope with the increased weight. This engine is already proven for its reliability as well as ballistic performance but RE has tuned it in a leisurely way on the Super Meteor. Hence, its power delivery is linear and not a hooligan. Speaking of the numbers, it produces the same peak power of 47 bhp & 52.1 Nm of torque.
Verdict
Priced at Rs 3.49 - 3.79 lakh, Super Meteor is the most costly product from RE. However, its build quality is top notch and it is equipped with the latest features as well. For those looking forward to a heavy cruiser bike with agile handling and a constrained budget; the Super Meteor 650 makes the most sense.
