Now, after even spying it without any wraps, and also getting our hands on a few interior shots, we have a lot of things that we know for sure.
So, are you wondering if you should wait for its launch or go for one of its rivals? We're here to explain so that you can make a much more informed decision. Read on.
HITS
1. Updated Features
Although the current Seltos is brimmed up with features, the incoming facelift is turning up the heat a bit more. It will come with ADAS tech, a big panoramic sunroof, and a fully digital instrument cluster as well. In its current model, it still gets advanced features like an air purifier, HUD, rain-sensing wipers, ventilated seats, and more.
2. Refreshed Styling
Although it does not lose its Seltos essence, it does tweak it up a bit. The headlamps, front grille, and bumper have been restyled a bit to give it a fresh feel. Coming to its rear, the tail lamps are an all-new design, more like the one you've seen on the Kia Carens. On top of this, there is an LED strip connecting the tail lamps as well. Overall, the elements are well-balanced throughout the vehicle.

3. Familiar And Efficient Mechanicals
It will most likely continue with the same tested engine as the current Seltos. Current engine options include a 1.5-liter NA petrol unit that churns out 115 PS and 144 Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and IVT gearbox. The 1.5-liter diesel unit makes 116 PS and 250 Nm. Transmission choices include 6-speed iMT and 6AT. However, a new 1.5-liter turbo petrol unit is on the cards as well.
MISSES
4. No AWD
Even though the global version does come with an optional AWD, looks like the Indian units are going to skip this off-road spec for a relatively lower top price. Since the Maruti Grand Vitara offers this extra tech on its top model, this could have been included here as well. This is something we would have loved to see.
5. No Hybrid Powertrain
This is however not a big miss, but if you look at the other rivals from the segment like the Grand Vitara or the Toyota Hyryder, they are adopting hybrid engines moving forward. Interstingly, Toyota Fortuner is going the mild-hybrid route as well from its next generation, so even a mild/full hybrid setup with this one would have been a cherry on top.
VERDICT- So the question was, Should you wait for the Kia Seltos facelift? The answer after this article is in your mind. For some, the pros will outweigh the cons, whereas, for others, the cons are just enough to look somewhere else for their requirements to be met. If you ask me, the Kia Seltos facelift is a pretty neat package of practicality, convenience, and performance and is worth a real-life feel for making up your mind.
