Skoda Octavia
The upcoming Octavia will be the facelift of the fourth generation - code name NX - and this generation was also launched here in 2021 but was discontinued due to extremely poor sales. Now, it is making a re-entry with a facelift, and its new weapon will be a diesel engine. Yes, a 2.0L diesel engine with 149 PS and 360 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG.
This could be a game-changer for many people, as there are still customers in India who prefer diesel for its high mileage. However, this will not be manufactured here but will come as a CBU unit, so we can expect its pricing to be upwards of 35 lakhs or even more.
The new Octavia will also get a new interior layout, which we saw at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where the infotainment screen is 13 inches, and the virtual cockpit is 10.25 inches. Apart from this, the gear knob is different, ditching the typical one for electrical toggles. Talking more about the expected features, it will have ADAS, an electric tailgate, and a sunroof. When launched, it won't have a direct rival and will most likely be compared to the Toyota Camry. Verdict
The Skoda Octavia is the OG sedan that had a loyal fanbase in India, as it was among the first European cars Indians drove and experienced what it's like to drive a performance + luxury vehicle.
