After the great success of the Skoda Rapid TSI, Skoda India has dropped the automatic gearbox option for the Rapid TSI. With prices starting from Rs 9.49 lakh ex-showroom, Skoda has offered the convenience of AT with all the variants of the Rapid. The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus AT is priced from Rs 9.49 lakh and the Monte Carlo AT is priced at Rs 13.29 lakh ex-showroom, New Delhi.
The all-new Skoda Rapid TSI now gets a new gearbox option - Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Skoda has not changed anything in the new Rapid, other than the added gearbox. Talking about the engine specifications, the Rapid TSI comes with a 1.0-litre three-pot TSI engine which churns out 110 PS and 175 Nm of peak torque. The prices of Skoda Rapid AT are about 1.5 lakh higher than the manual counterparts, however, some variants see a price bump of just 1.3 lakh ex-showroom.

The Rapid will get the Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque convertor gearbox which is also used in the Polo and Vento AT. Skoda Rapid AT offers a claimed fuel economy of 16.24 km/l. Skoda also claims that the new 1.0-litre TSI engine offers 5% more power, 14% more torque and 9% more fuel efficiency over the older 1.6-litre MPI unit.

Skoda India also shared that the Rapid has achieved the 1,00,000 production milestone since its launch. With the diversified range of engines including the older 1.6 MPI and the 1.5-litre diesel, the Rapid is now only offered with the 1.0-litre TSI. Despite the lack of diesel engine, the Rapid TSI has recorded more sales than both the engines combined in BS4 era.
