Skoda has finally commenced the production of their upcoming sedan, Slavia. This mid-size sedan will be the second product from the Czech carmaker based on the MQB AO IN platform. The company claims that with the localisation of 95%, the overall ownership cost will reduce a lot.
Skoda Slavia will be available in three variants and two engine options. The entry-level Active, mid-variant Ambition and the top-spec Style variant. Skoda Slavia is expected to come with a larger touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other features include automatic climate control, front ventilated seats, tyre-pressure monitoring system, cruise control and more. It'll also pack in six airbags, reverse parking sensors, hill-hold control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, multi-collision braking and more. Like the Kushaq, the electronic stability control comes as standard fitment on this one too.

Under the hood, Slavia will be powered by two engine options - 1.0L TSI and a more powerful, 1.5L TSI. The power and torque figures for both the engines are 115PS/178 Nm and 150PS/250 Nm respectively. A 6-speed manual transmission will be observed as standard for both engines. For the automatic, a 6-speed AT for the 1.0L TSI and a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5L TSI will be made optional.
The 1.5L TSI motor will also get active-cylinder technology. With this technology, two cylinders of the car are automatically shut when the engine load is less thus increasing the fuel economy. The boot carrying capacity of Skoda Slavia is massive at 521 litres.
