Skoda Rapid has maintained its legacy in the market for the past 10 years and its customers are seamlessly connected with the car. But the time has come to say goodbye. Skoda India is replacing the existing Rapid very soon with the all-new Slavia. Rapid used to compete against the likes of Honda City though was underpriced. The upcoming Slavia is expected to be a bit more expensive than Rapid and will share a few specifications and features with Kushaq. The new-gen Slavia will compete against the likes of the latest Honda City and Ciaz. Here is our Skoda Slavia vs Honda City comparison in terms of dimensions and specs along with even taking a glimpse at the features list. Please note that Skoda has so far not yet revealed any information except the specifications and dimensions of the car.
Features
The fifth-generation Honda City is a premium sedan that is styled smartly with advanced technology. The grille upfront is the signature Honda Solid Wing Face grille that is connected with the newly designed LED headlamps with nine LED array inline shells, integrated LED DRLs, and L-shaped LED turn indicators. From inside, the car comes packed with premium leather upholstery, sophisticated high-quality dashboard design and a contemporary front seat design.
Along with these, City also offers segment features like 17.7 cm digital cockpit, G-Meter, ECO assist and ECON mode indicators, eight premium surround sound system, 20.3 cm touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, weblink - smartphone connectivity, automatic climate control, walk away auto lock, rear ac vents with two charging ports, and rear windscreen sunshade.
Skoda has not yet revealed the car but will soon do so. After the launch of Kushaq, Slavia would be the second product from its expanding plant in India. Slavia will carry an attractive stance and will sort of look like a combination of superb and octavia. The sedan will offer six airbags and many driver assistance systems whereas the complete list of features has not been revealed so far.
Skoda Slavia vs Honda City Comparison - Specifications
Let's first take a look at the specifications Skoda is offering with its upcoming Slavia. It will offer a choice of two German-engineered powerful and efficient TSI engines. The sedan will offer both superior driving performance and higher levels of efficiency. The entry-level 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine is capable of developing 85 kW (115 PS)* of maximum power while the four-cylinder 1.5-litre TSI is capable of churning out 110 kW (150 PS)* of maximum power.
Both engines on offer are front-wheel drive. The bigger 1.5-litre engine comes installed with active cylinder technology (ACT) that automatically shuts down two cylinders when the engine is at low, enhancing the fuel efficiency. The SLAVIA will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. A six-speed automatic transmission is optional for the 1.0-litre TSI while the 1.5-litre TSI can also be paired with a seven-speed DSG.
On the other hand, we have the fifth-gen Honda City. it will also offer a choice of two engines - 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The 1.5-litre water-cooled inline four-cylinder i-VTEC DOHC with VTC petrol engine will be capable of churning out 89 kW (121 PS) of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque and the water cooled inline four-cylinder i-DTEC DOHC diesel engine that is capable of churning out 73 kW (100 PS) of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque.

The sedan is front-wheel drive and available with manual and automatic transmission. The petrol engine is mated to a seven-speed manual and a CVT transmission whereas the diesel variant is only available with the seven-speed manual transmission. An automatic gearbox is not available with the diesel engine.

According to the figures revealed so far, Slavia seems to be a bit more powerful than Honda City. The exact comparison is only possible once the car is launched and driven.
Skoda Slavia vs Honda City Comparison - Dimensions
On comparing the dimensions of both the cars we realised that Honda City is still bigger in length, height and other dimensions as well but Skoda Slavia has a longer wheelbase that means the sedan will come with a spacious cabin with advanced creature comforts and updated infotainment system. On comparing the dimensions of both the sedan, City is 8mm longer in length and 5mm shorter in width. Skoda Slavia is ofcourse bigger than Rapid but almost similar in size if compared to City. In fact, Skoda Slavia has a longer wheelbase that means the car from inside will be more spacious than Honda City.
