Jimny Pop-top Camper Concept
The Japanese carmaker has recently made the blueprints of this project public. The original prototype will be showcased at the upcoming Tokyo Camper Show 2024. In the shared renders, it is visible that if the company adds a pop-up roof to the Jimny, it will increase the SUV's height by 150mm.
How Will It Work?
The Jimny pop-top Camper Concept will allow the passengers to enter the camp directly from the inside. So there will be no need to install an outside ladder on the Jimny Camper Concept. In the pop-top Camper form, the Jimny XL's height will be 2,815mm. Additionally, the rooftop tent will have space for two occupants. Because of the electrically powered conversion, it will not be a big task to convert it into the pop-top camper form.
Jimny Pop-top Camper Edition: India Bound?
Notably, Jimny 5 door is not available in the Japanese market, so it has to be seen if the pop-top camper edition will be launched in the home market or not. According to some reports, it will surely make its way to various international markets including India.
Verdict
Suzuki's Jimny Pop-top Camper Concept enhances its off-road expertise with camping convenience, featuring an electrically powered conversion for easy setup. Its potential launch in international markets, including India, anticipates a new dimension of adventure-ready vehicles catering to enthusiasts seeking both rugged exploration and comfortable camping experiences.
