Tata Harrier And Safari Facelift 2023- Whats New?
The test mules seem to be the new petrol engine introduced at the Auto Expo 2023. The 2.0 diesel engine is already past these tests as it is currently being sold with the Safari and Harrier. Apart from this, it is coming with updated front facia, new tail lights, and also on board are sequential turn indicators.
The new styling statement is based more on the Harrier EV showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. The front is a fresh redesign with new headlamp units with daytime running lamps just under the bonnet. On top of this, the interior can be expected to be refreshed with a new upholstery and cabin theme.
Powertrain
The 2.0-liter Kryotech Turbocharged diesel engine puts out 170 PS power with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This BS6 Phase 2 engine is also E20 compatible. The 1.5-liter petrol unit is good for 168 PS power with a peak torque of around 280 Nm. The transmission choices could include a 6-speed automatic as well.
VERDICT- The facelift of both Harrier and Safari is under testing. Since the diesel engine is already updated, this one seems to be the petrol unit. Meanwhile, the new petrol engine details were revealed at the Auto Expo 2023 itself. The design cues resemble a lot like the Harrier EV concept from Expo 2023, however, it remains to be seen how exactly it will turn out.
