Upcoming Cars And SUVs From Tata Motors At 2020 Auto Expo

Tata Motors has been on a high ever since they launched the Nexon. Not only it helped them improve the sales number but also proved out to be India's safest car. Jumping forward, it was the Harrier which worked the magic with its unique design.

Tata Harrier is based on the LandRover D8 architecture which gets Impact 2.0 Design Philosophy. Now, in this article, we will be listing out Tata Motors cars which will be showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo!

Tata Gravitas
The 7-seater SUV is an extended version of the Harrier. The length is increased by 63 mm to accomodate the extra two-seats and the SUV is now 80mm taller.

It will sport a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre, FCA sourced diesel engine. The oil burner will come with a 6-speed automatic transmission along with a 6-speed manual. As far as the pricing goes then it is expected to be a lakh premium over the Harrier.

Tata Harrier BS6
The popular mid-size SUV from Tata Motors will also be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo with a BS6 compliant engine. Furthermore, an automatic transmission will be seen with the all-new Harrier.

Recently, Tata Motors launched the Dark Edition to the Harrier portfolio. It was done to improve sales. This SUV competes with the likes of MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and Nissan Kicks.

Tata Nexon Facelift
One-off the most popular compact SUVs in the market which was launched in 2017 is now showing its age. So to get back in the game strongly, a facelift of the same will be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The changes will stick to cosmetic upgrades with headlights and taillights tweaked, a big infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and also an updated upholstery. Under the hood, it will now get a BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engine.

Tata Nexon EV
Recently, Tata Motors showcased the electric version of the Nexon. The compact SUV packs a 30.2 kWh battery pack which produces 129 bhp along with a peak torque of 254 Nm. The driving range as claimed by Tata officials is more than 300+ km.

Once launched, this will be the most affordable electric SUV present in the Indian market. The bookings for the same have already been started and one can book their Tata Nexon EV at a token amount of Rs 21,000 only.

Tata Altroz EV
Tata's upcoming premium hatchback is based on the ALFA architecture. And one of the perks about this platform is that it is well suited for making electric vehicles. And the Altroz EV will be one such example from Tata Motors which will be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The performance figures are still not known but we expect a good driving range from the Altroz EV. Also, we expect the prices to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, it will be one of the first premium electric hatchbacks in the country.

Tata Tiago facelift
The entry level hatchback from Tata Motors is all set to receive a facelift. The front profile now takes design inspiration from the soon to be launched, Tata Altroz. The rear profile will get tweaks to the taillights and the bumper. The side profile will remain more or less the same except for the new alloy wheel design.

The interior too is expected to receive an update as we will see a new upholstery design with contrast stitching. One of the biggest changes under the hood will be the discontinuation of the diesel engine. The petrol will be seen with a BS6 version with the facelift.

Tata Tigor
Like, the Tiago, the Tigor will also receive an update. The sub-4-metre sedan will carry similar styling like the Tiago and will come with refreshed exterior and interior design.

Tata Motors Upcoming Cars at 2020 Auto Expo

With the new BS6 petrol engine and the facelift, the prices of the Tata Tigor will see an increase. Once launched, the Tigor will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire.

Tata JTPs
The Indian manufacturer joined hands with Jayem Automotives to bring out the performance-oriented vehicles. We have already seen the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. Now, Tata Motors will be bringing out the Nexon JTP too in the market.

Tata Motors Upcoming Cars At 2020 Auto Expo

All of these cars will come with an updated BS6 petrol engine. The performance figures for both Tiago and Tigor JTP sticks to 112 bhp along with a peak torque of 150 Nm. Surely, the performance figures of Nexon JTP be a bit on a higher side.

Tata H2X
The upcoming SUV from Tata Motors will be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo and we can expect it to be launched in late 2020. The SUV is built on the ALFA architecture, the same as the Tata Altroz.

It will see the 1.2-litre petrol engine only. We expect that this micro SUV from Tata Motors will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 NXT.
