1. Maruti Brezza- 15,322
Maruti Brezza emerged as the undisputed king in the best-selling Compact SUV list for September 2024 with a total sales of 15, 322, almost 4,000 units more than the trailing second placeholder. The Maruti Brezza with a price range of Rs. 8.34 lakhs to 13.98 lakhs ex-showroom, comes with a 1.5L petrol mill with an option for CNG as well. Maruti Suzuki's Brezza remains a popular choice in the SUV segment due to its strong reputation, extensive service network, affordable maintenance, and easy availability of parts. While other models may offer more advanced technology features, the Brezza's enduring appeal and reliability continue to make it a top contender.
2. Tata Nexon- 11,470
Tata Nexon sits at the second spot with a total sales of 11,470 units which is a good enough number. The Nexon always had a pretty good sales trajectory that rides on the back of a robust safety net coupled with a choice of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, and CNG as well as EV powertrain options that open up new avenues and attract more customer base. It is currently priced in the range of Rs. 8.00 lakhs to Rs. 15.30 lakhs ex-showroom. It is powered by a choice of 1.2L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel engines, producing 120 bhp and 170 Nm of torque for the petrol variant and 115 bhp and 260 Nm of torque for the diesel option.
3. Kia Sonet- 10,355
Trailing just behind the Nexon, the Kia Sonet with a sales number of 10,355, Kia Sonet has strengthened its position by crossing the 10k sales mark for September 2024 and holds the fort in best selling compact SUV list just like the Seltos does in a segment above. The Kia Sonet is available with three engine options: a 1.2-liter petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission, a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT or an iMT transmission, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine with a 6-speed AT, an iMT, or a 6-speed MT transmission.
4. Hyundai Venue- 10,259
Trailing behind the Sonet by just around a hundred units is the Hyundai Venue which sold 10,259 units in September and reinforces its place within a rapidly evolving segment. Customers can choose from a peppy 1.2-liter petrol engine producing 83 horsepower, a punchy 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine generating 120 hp, or a torquey 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Each engine option can be paired with a manual transmission, while the turbo-petrol engine also offers the flexibility of choosing an automatic or clutchless manual transmission.

5. Mahindra XUV 3XO- 9,000
Sitting at the fifth spot, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is gaining its lost spot in the segment, thanks to its revamped exteriors and significantly upgraded interiors with a slew of segment-first features. It sold 9,000 units in September 2024 and offers a range of engine options. The XUV300 offers three engine options: a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 110 bhp and 200 Nm, a 1.2-liter TGDi turbo-petrol engine producing 129 bhp and 230 Nm, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine producing 115 bhp and 300 Nm. All engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.
