The Fortuner is one of the best selling iconic full-size SUVs on sale in India right now and offers a capable and powerful package to buyers. Having said this, Toyota recently revealed the new Toyota Fortuner Commander limited-edition model. This iteration of the Fortuner is expected to go on sale in the Thailand market first after which it may also make it to the Indian market. Here are all the details about the limited time model of the Toyota Fortuner.
A number of changes have been made to the exteriors of the Fortuner. For starters, the Commander gets a black finish on the front bumpers and the skid plates which earlier featured a silver and chrome finish which the roof is finished in black to complement the styling. The chrome detailing between the tail-lamps at the rear is now replaced and get blacked outstrip. The alloy wheels are similar to that of the Fortuner Legender. The front grille is larger than the one seen on the Legender and features the same black finish. It is worth noting that only 1,000 units of the Fortuner Commander will go on sale in the Thailand market.

Inside, the Toyota Fortuner Commander will feature a dual-tone dark red and black leather upholstery in addition to other small changes. On the features front, the Commander offers a number of additional new features. These include a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Fortuner Commander also promises to offer a retuned suspension that will offer an improved ride quality when compared to the standard iterations of the car.
Under the hood, the Thai-spec Fortuner Commander will be offered with a 2.4-L diesel engine that churns out 150 hp and comes mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. In India, the Fortuner is only offered with a larger and more powerful 2.8-L diesel engine. The brand is however yet to confirm the launch of this limited-spec iteration of the Fortuner Commander in India.
