1. Visual Upgrades: Calls For Attention
The Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition skips major design changes but injects personality with black 17-inch alloy wheels and dealer-installed front and rear spoilers. It sheds the monotone options for a bolder look, offering dual-tone choices of Super White, Pearl White, or Silver Metallic all paired with a black roof. The standout addition that gives it character is the front and rear lip spoilers at the bumper, which according to Toyota is a part of accessories and adds to the rugged appeal of the SUV.
2. New Features: TPMS, Wireless Charging, And More
Inside, the Fortuner Leader Edition keeps things simple with just new dual-tone seat covers. While the price bump for the Leader Edition is likely, considering it's a Fortuner, Toyota does add some functional upgrades like auto-folding ORVMs, a wireless charger, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). Other than this, it is just the regular Fortuner.
3. No 4X4
The Fortuner Leader Edition sticks to a 2WD drivetrain powering the rear wheels by the familiar 2.8-liter diesel engine. This engine offers 204hp and 500Nm of torque with the 6-speed automatic transmission, while the manual transmission gets 420Nm of torque. No 4x4 option is available with the Leader Edition.

4. Pricing: This Is Where It Gets Interesting
The most interesting bit of this all is that there is no pricing for this at all, And there won't be any official in the future as well. Toyota has revealed that the pricing will be disclosed at the dealership level after the buyers opt for the desired accessories. This edition is based on the separate add-ons that determine the final pricing of the SUV, However, expect the new add-ons to take the pricing of the Leader Edition over the regular pricing which dwindles between Rs. 35.93 lakhs and 38.21 lakhs ex-showroom.
Verdict
The Fortuner Leader Edition is an attempt to keep the ever-popular SUV have that charm intact. While it may bring some more buyers to its showrooms, this is a bigger play than that. The only SUV to ever seriously challenge its authority, the Ford Endeavour is making a comeback soon. When launched, considering the bells and whistles that it is expected to bring, will make it harder for Fortuner to keep its full share in the market. However, those who will get the most of out of this iconic rivalry are the upcoming big SUV buyers.
