Toyota Kirloskar Motors has revised the prices of all variants of the Fortuner and Legender. The hike comes as part of the new year's price revisions.
Prices of both 4x2 and 4x4 models of the Toyota Fortuner have been increased. This will be the third time that the SUVs price has increased. The first hike was in April last year and the second hike came after a few months in August.
Toyota cites a rise in input costs as the reason behind the hike. However, this is also a common practice among automotive manufacturers to hike prices at the start of every year. Below we have charted out the increased price of different variants of the Fortuner, and the difference from last year. Check them out. As per the table below, prices of all 4X2 variants of the Fortuner have increased by Rs. 66,000, whereas, the 4X4 variants see a price increase by Rs. 1.10 lakh. The features list, however, remains unchanged, and the Fortuner doesnt receive any exterior or interior update as such.

Prices for both 4X2 and 4X4 variants of the Toyota Fortuner Legender has been hiked by Rs. 1.10 lakh. The increase in price does not come with an updated features list here as well. As mentioned above, the price hike is to counter to rise in input costs.

Mechanically, all Fortuner and Legender models will be powered by the same 2.7-litre petrol engine or 2.8-liter diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 166 bhp and 245 Nm of torque, and it comes mated with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission option. The diesel engine, on the other hand, produces 204 bhp and 420 Nm of torque with the 6-speed manual transmission. But if availed with the 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, then the same produces 500 Nm of torque. Irrespective of the above configuration, the Fortuner is available with both 2-wheel drive (4X2) and four-wheel drive (4X4) configurations.
The Japanese automaker has also scheduled the launch of one of their most popular and reliable pick-up truck in India. The Hilux is expected to arrive in showrooms sometime later this month. Unofficial bookings have already started in some showrooms, and deliveries will start in February or March. The Hilux will be cheaper than the Legender, but it will be priced above Rs. 30.00 lakh.
