Toyota Rumion And Maruti Ertiga: Shared Specs And Powertrain
Both the Ertiga and the Rumion boast a BS6-compliant 2.0-updated 1.5-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, paired with both a five-speed manual and an automated manual transmission (AMT). Price Comparison
The Rumion MPV lineup offers three distinct variants: S, G, and V. On the other hand, the Ertiga comes in four variants: LXi (O), VXi (O), ZXi (O), and ZXi Plus. Here are the ex-showroom prices for each variant of both the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Rumion:

S MT | Rs. 10.29 lakh | Rs. 8.64 lakh | VXi (O) |
S MT (CNG) | Rs. 11.24 lakh | Rs. 9.78 lakh | VXi (O) CNG |

V MT | Rs. 12.18 lakh | Rs. 10.88 lakh | ZXi Plus |

The interesting thing to note here is that every corresponding Toyota Rumion variant carries a premium over its Maruti twin. This is generally the case with all the shared models between these two coveted carmakers.
Verdict
In a comparison of similar vehicles from different manufacturers, it's evident that Toyota's offering comes at a higher price point compared to Maruti Suzuki's counterpart. While both cars share similarities in features and specifications, the price discrepancy highlights Toyota's positioning as the more expensive of the two, potentially due to the understanding amongst the sharing brands. The choice between the two would depend on individual preferences, including budget considerations and the perceived value of a Toyota offering.
