Triumph Speed T4: New Colours And Visual Tweaks

Triumph has refreshed the Triumph Speed T4 with some eye-catching new updates. Four striking tri-color paint jobs are now available, including combinations like Caspian Blue and Pearl White, Lava Red and Pearl White, and two different takes on Phantom Black. Beyond the fresh colors, the Speed T4 also gets some subtle but classy design tweaks. A brushed steel finish for the exhaust, a three-dimensional 'Speed T4' badge, a revised frame color, and a new tyre sticker design all contribute to a more premium feel.

While the Speed 400 boasts high-end components, the T4 takes a more practical approach. It uses a conventional telescopic fork instead of the 400's inverted setup, though it retains the same mono-shock rear suspension. Braking is handled by disc brakes front and rear, with standard dual-channel ABS. The T4 rides on 17-inch wheels, with tire sizes of 110 at the front and 140 at the rear. Although the T4 shares its engine with the Speed 400, it's been tuned for improved fuel efficiency rather than outright performance.

Engine Details
The Triumph Speed T4 shares its 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with the Speed 400. However, in the T4, this engine has been tuned to prioritize fuel efficiency over outright power. It still delivers a respectable 31 PS at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, making it a capable performer for everyday riding.
Verdict
A price reduction of Rs. 18,000 makes the Triumph Speed T4 a much more attractive proposition. The combination of the prestigious Triumph badge and a now-lower price point, especially with these recent updates, makes it a compelling choice. These updates in quick succession highlights the aggresive approach from the brand in the segment, tempting buyers to look beyond the usual suspects and consider a premium option within the Rs. 2 lakh price range.
