Triumph Motorcycles is having success with a more mass-premium market section of buyers, whereas it was once known for its premium offerings in higher price categories. Given the popularity of the Scrambler 400X and the Triumph Speed 400, the brand is all set to introduce a new Cafe Racer in the Indian market by the name of Triumph Thruxton 400, which has now been spotted without any wraps, in its full glory and it demands attention. Let's look at the details and how it looks on the road, but before that, make sure you are a part of our 91Wheels Whatsapp Channel, specifically curated for all the avid petrolheads to never miss out on any automotive updates.

Triumph Thruxton 400 Cafe Racer On-Road Presence Makes An Impact
The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 clearly showcases the brand's signature features, including its iconic styling and the Triumph logo on the engine casing. Drawing inspiration from the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X, it incorporates elements that reflect Triumph's distinct design language. Some cues are also borrowed from the larger Thruxton 1200 cafe racer, giving the 400 a more aggressive and sporty stance. One of the key updates is the introduction of a new half-fairing, which not only enhances its visual appeal but also contributes to a more dynamic street presence. With this fairing, the turn indicators have been repositioned lower, giving the Thruxton 400 a more streamlined and modern look compared to the Speed 400.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 is equipped with 17-inch wheels at both the front and rear, identical to those found on the Speed 400. For braking, it features a 300 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear, with dual-channel ABS, offered as standard for enhanced safety and control. The Cafe Racer body style will be a charmer in the 400cc segment that will offer something unique over the existing line-up. And if I'm being honest, I was waiting for something just like this in the Indian markets that would be a little more pocket-friendly (not pronounced cheap by any means!). You can still expect a price tag of around Rs. 2.5 lakhs ex-showroom.

Engine Details
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be powered by a 399cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. Renowned for its refinement and smooth power delivery, the engine provides excellent tractability and a strong mid-range performance, making it ideal for both city riding and spirited outings on the open road. This tested unit already has a separate fanbase that will again work in its favor.
Verdict
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will be a pretty interesting addtion to the 400cc line-up in the Indian biking space, where a cafe racer could add a distinct identity for the buyers looking to have something new other than what is already there in the market. However, how much traction it gains and if it will be a better fit than the current models, this is something that we will have to wait and find out.
