The joint venture of TVS & BMW was formed a long time back. According to this JV, both manufacturers jointly developed a new range of mid-weight performance bikes. While the prime focus was on a shared sports bike platform; TVS launched the bike based on it before BMW. Called the Apache RR 310; TVS made sure it wobbled the segment rivals with tech & aggressive price.
Contrary, BMW G 310 R was launched with the same platform. But it was a naked sports bike & hence it offered a different experience altogether. Now, BMW has teased the first-ever images of the Apache 310-based sports bike. The new motorcycle will debut on July 15 in India. As seen in the teaser, the LED tail light is similar to the one on Apache 310. Also, the silhouette of the clip-on handlebars, windscreen, & rear seat indicates a similar design as well.
As believed widely, this new motorcycle will continue using the same trellis frame & sub-frame as its sibling. While the design is speculated to remain the same; we expect some major differences as well. For example, BMW will use a new TFT screen with different graphics. Also, the ergonomics will be more dedicated than its TVS sibling bike. BMW may also feature it with a Motorrad specific colours as well as bodywork.
Speaking of engine & tech specs, most likely all of them will be carried over from the Apache itself; unchanged. This means the same 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine will power the upcoming bike. It produces a peak power of 34 hp & 27.3 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed gearbox is used to deliver this power to the rear wheel.

BMW will most likely name it the G 310 RR. While the BMW G 310 R is priced at Rs 2.65 Lakhs, the TVS Apache 310 RR is also similarly priced. BMW is eyeing to place the upcoming sports bike a notch above both of these products. Also, the 2022 KTM RC 390 has made its debut at just Rs 3.14 lakhs. This means the upcoming bike will be priced somewhere around this price tag anticipation.
A lot of unsolved notions will get clear with the debut of this bike on July 15. Till then, comment down below & let us know your thoughts on the upcoming sports bike from BMW.
