2021 saw Bajaj revive the Pulsar with a new design and 250 cc engine. Such new additions will continue into 2022 as well.
Bajaj Auto has been leading the sales charts at the second position, preceded by Hero Motors India. In November 2021, Bajaj sold 3,38,473 units of two-wheeler combined with both electric and ICE bikes. And to add more to the figures, Bajaj has lined up a few more models for launch next year. Below here we have compiled a list of these upcoming bikes, but before we get down to the list, do remember to join our 91Wheels Telegram and 91Wheels Whatsapp to interact about anything on wheels with like-minded individuals and get the news first:
Bajaj Pulsar NS250 (January, 2022)
Bajaj launched the new Pulsar bikes in two variants: the full-faired F250, and the naked version called the N250. The 250 cc engine in both the bikes is a completely new unit, built in-house by Bajaj. So, it was obvious that some of their popular, performance-oriented mass-sellers will get the new engine. The Pulsar NS badge is one of them. Currently, the NS is available with a 200 c, 150 cc, and 125 cc engine option, and next year it is expected to come equipped with a 250 cc engine as well. Its not sure if it will be the new 250 cc engine, or a detuned version of the 250 cc engine from KTM, like Bajaj does with the Dominar 250. However, there will be a newer and powerful NS Pulsar awaiting launch in January 2022.
Bajaj Avenger 400 (May 2022)
The Bajaj Avenger has been the marquees cruiser bike for the masses, populating Leh, Ladakh for quite some time now. Although the Avenger has remained the same, mechanically it has remained the same with a 220 cc engine, and later followed by a 160 cc engine as well. But for the first time, it will come equipped with a 400 cc engine. Just like the NS250, were not sure if it will be the same KTMs engine from Dominar or an entire unit. Irrespective of that, the 2022 Avenger will be the most powerful cruiser bike from Bajaj, as of yet. The new bike is expected to launch in May 2022.
Bajaj Pulsar RS400/ SS400 (July 2022)
The 373 cc engine with the Dominar 400 has been an exciting offering. The LTM-derived unit is the most powerful engine in Bajajs line-up that produces 40 Ps and 35 Nm of torque. So, it was quite obvious that the RS badged Pulsar would also come equipped with this powerful engine. Currently, the Pulsar RS comes equipped with a 200 cc engine, but in 2022, there will be an RS400 as well. The new bike is awaiting launch in the middle of 2022, probably in June or July.
2022 Bajaj Chetak (June 2022)
The modern Chetak is an electric scooter that comes with a 3kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a 4 kW electric motor, with two riding modes, Eco and Sport. But with an ex-showroom price range between Rs. 1.00 lakh - Rs. 1.15 lakh makes it quite an expensive affair. Especially for a scooter that will be mainly used for short urban trips. But a few days back, a new scooter was spied being tested on Indian roads. It looks smaller and is expected to have a cheaper price tag than the current generation Chetak. As of now, no other detail is available, well have to wait until mid-2022 for the electric scooter to launch.
