Initially, the Taycan was about to be launched in India in the first half of 2020 but all thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, its launch got delayed and now it will be launched soon this year. The Porsche Taycan is the company's first electric car and also one of the most powerful EV currently available across the globe. The Taycan gets a 79.2kWh battery that delivers a massive output of 600 PS of power and can reach 0-100 kmph in less than 4 seconds. Also, thanks to its 800-volt architecture, one will have enough charge to drive it for 100 kms after charging for just 4 minutes. The company claims that it can run over 500 kilometres on a single charge. The Porsche Taycan is expected to be priced around Rs. 2 Crores, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Audi e-Tron

The new Audi e-tron will be the first electric car from Audi in India. It was showcased in the country back in 2019 and is now expected to be launched soon. The e-tron will be powered by a 95 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a range of around 350-400 kilometres on a single charge. It will get two electric motors that will churn out 355 PS of power and 561 Nm of torque while with boost the outputs will be 402 PS and 664 Nm. The top-speed of the e-tron will be 200 kmph and it can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 30 minutes with the help of level 3 fast charger. The upcoming Audi e-tron is expected to be priced around Rs. 1 Crore, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Jaguar I-PACE

Expected Starting Price - Rs 1 Crore

The Jaguar I-PACE electric SUV has been already listed on Jaguar's official India website hinting its imminent launch. The I-PACE will be powered by two electric motors that will churn out around 400 PS of power and 696 Nm of peak torque. The top speed of the EV is limited to 200 kmph. It will be paired with a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a range of over 470 kilometres on a single charge. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 40 minutes with the help a 100 kW DC fast charger. The upcoming Jaguar I-PACE is expected to be priced from Rs. 1 Crore, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Tesla Model 3 / Tesla Model Y

One of the biggest news of the year 2021 in the Indian Automotive Industry is that Tesla is finally going to enter the Indian market. Tesla will make its official India debut with either the Tesla Model 3 or the Tesla Model Y. The Model 3 is the most affordable EV in the company's line-up while Model Y will be more suitable in our country as it is crossover a.k.a. SUV. The Tesla Model 3 can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just around 3 seconds while its top speed is rated at 260 kmph. Also, it can be fully charged in just 15 minutes with the help of Tesla's supercharger, which is a superfast DC charger. The company claims that it can run upto 500 kilometres on a single charge. Volvo XC40 Recharge

The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be powered by two electric motors that will deliver a combined output of 408 PS of power and a whopping 660 Nm peak torque. Its top speed will be limited to 180 kmph. The new XC40 Recharge will get a 78kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a range of around 400 kilometres on a single charge. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 40 minutes with the help of a 150kW DC fast charger. The upcoming Volvo XC40 Recharge is expected to be priced from Rs. 50 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

MG ZS EV Facelift

MG Motor India launched the ZS EV in January 2020. It garnered good sales numbers for the company and now after just a year of its launch, MG will give it a minor update. The new 2021 MG ZS EV will be launched in India on February 8, 2021. It is expected to get minor design tweaks and some new features, including an upgraded infotainment system. The mechanicals of the EV will remain the same as before and so it will continue to be powered by an electric motor that churns out 143 PS of power and 353 Nm of peak torque. It gets a 44.5kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that claims to deliver a driving range of 340 kilometres on a single charge. The new 2021 MG ZS EV is expected to be priced from Rs. 21 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Mahindra eXUV300

Expected Starting Price - Rs 15 Lakhs

Indian UV maker - Mahindra showcased the pre-production version of the upcoming XUV300 Electric at the 2020 Auto Expo. The XUV300 Electric will be officially known as the eXUV300. It will be powered by a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and will claim to deliver a range of around more than 300 kilometres on a single charge. However, the exact power and torque figures of its electric motor have not been revealed yet. The upcoming Mahindra eXUV300 will directly rival against the Tata Nexon EV and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 15 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Tata Altroz EV

Expected Starting Price - Rs 12 Lakhs

Tata Motors showcased the upcoming Altroz EV at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company's Nexon EV is already very popular in India and so the carmaker will now soon launch the Altroz EV too. The Altroz EV will feature a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which will be paired to a permanent magnet asynchronous electric motor that will churn out 129 PS of power and 245 Nm of peak torque. It will get a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver a range of around 300 kilometres on a single charge. We expect the new Tata Altroz EV to be priced around Rs. 12 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV

Maruti Suzuki has been testing its fleet of electric cars on the Indian roads since a really long time. Now, the carmaker will soon launch its first electric car in India which will be based on the WagonR. While we don't know the exact powertrain options of the upcoming new WagonR EV but it will surely get a lithium-ion battery pack that will deliver around 180-200 kilometres of range on a single charge. Aesthetically and features-wise, it will be similar to the regular ICE-powered WagonR. We expect the upcoming new Maruti Suzuki WagonR EV to be priced under Rs. 10 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

GWM (Great Wall Motors) ORA R1 EV

The GWM ORA R1 is the most affordable EV in the world. The ORA R1 EV was showcased in India at the 2020 Auto Expo and if GWM makes its entry in the Indian market, this will be launched soon. The new GWM ORA R1 EV which was showcased at the Auto Expo was powered by a 33 kW electric motor that churns out 48 PS of power and 125 Nm of torque with a lithium-ion battery pack that delivers 300 kilometres of range on a single charge. However, it might even get a bigger 36 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with more power, torque & driving range in India. The upcoming GWM ORA R1 EV is expected to be priced under Rs. 10 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

Renault K-ZE (Kwid Electric)

The upcoming new Renault Kwid Electric will get a 26.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack mated to an electric motor that will churn out 44 PS of power and 125 Nm of peak torque. It can be charged from 0-80 per cent in just 30 minutes with the help of a fast charger. Also, it can run up to 270 kilometres on a single charge. Once launched, the all-new Renault Kwid Electric is expected to be priced under Rs. 10 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
