Honda Activa, a brand name in itself has been a market leader since its inception. Cut to the year 2022, the two wheeler continues to rule the scooter space in India. Its current iteration which goes by the name Activa 6G, was launched in 2020. Going by some media reports, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India could possibly launch the new-gen Activa 7G in India by the first half of 2023. With such a popular name in its portfolio, the Japanese two wheeler manufacturer will definitely bring something exciting for the customers with the Active 7G. Upcoming Honda Activa 7G: Expected Upgrades?
Like we have seen with every new generation of Honda Active, the two wheeler manufacturer will not experiment much in terms of design. Having said that, there will be subtle changes here and there, to justify the update and to bring a fresh breath of life. More sleeker and sharper body panels supported by some new colour schemes could make up for cosmetic enhancements. Apart from this, Honda could shod bigger wheels and a broader set of rubber, in interest of a sporty stance and better ride quality.
The area where we expect Honda to make significant changes is the features and equipment department. The current Activa is facing a lot of heat from its ICE as well EV rivals in terms of features. In line with this, Honda will likely load the new model with features like an all digital instrument cluster, multiple charging ports in the boot, smartphone connectivity with navigation and more.
Mechanically, the new Activa 7G will continue to be powered by the familiar 109.51 cc single cylinder engine putting out 7.79 bhp and 8.84 Nm of peak torque. Some rumors suggest at the introduction of a hybrid powertrain, however, it is highly unlikely due to the fact that the two wheeler operates in a highly price senstive segment.
The upcoming Honda Activa 7G will make its debut by the first half of 2023 and we expect its price to go up by Rs. 5000 to 10,000 depending upon the variant.
