The automotive industry is day by day getting wider with the new range of vehicles that are available in the market. With the beginning of a new year, few carmakers like Kia, Maruti, and a few more are ready to introduce or update their existing models. This article will talk about the upcoming Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) that will hit the Indian market in the coming months. That said, the cars mentioned below will be launched by the first half of 2022.

Kia Carens
The South Korean manufacturer, recently revealed its upcoming MPV, Carens, before the official launch. The company will commence with its bookings from 14th January, 2022. The much-awaited six and seven-seater MPV is expected to be launched by March 2022. Kia Carens is built on the updated SP2 platform and will compete against the likes of Mahindra Marazzo, Maruti Suzuki XL6, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and a few more.
This MPV will be available in three engine choices, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine, and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Kia has introduced some premium features with its Carens like a digital cockpit, a huge touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with all smartphones, ventilated front seats, Bose surround sound system, connected car tech, and many more. The company has not yet given any official statement regarding its price and launch.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been in the market for quite a long time. The company is in a plan to introduce an updated version of the car with enhanced features and advanced technology. Though, not many changes would be made to the car except a few. The car from inside is expected to receive more updates in terms of upholstery design and comforts and conveniences.
Along with this, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to update the XL6 MPV. The upcoming one will come with an updated exterior and interior. The car will get a new updated design of the bumper and grille. From inside, the company is planning to introduce more features and creature comforts for a better drive experience. Both the MPVs carry the same specifications and are powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a manual and a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Renault Triber Turbo

Renault launched a seven-seater Triber in the market at an affordable price tag. The company is planning to update the car and it is expected to receive an updated 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is also there in Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. This updated engine will be able to churn out 100bhp of maximum power and 160 Nm of peak torque mated to a five-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox. There is a possibility that Renault will also introduce new features and technology to the MPV.
