Zontes ZT125-M Maxi-Scooter Details
As it is meant for global markets, the ZT125-M gets the maxi-scooter design. However, it has futuristic design elements like sharp edges and creases in its panels. Moreover, the LED lights like the DRLs make it look even more appealing. Hence, a futuristic approach is seen in its design that resembles to most of the other Zontes products. The bulky front also gets a long adjustable black windshield. Additionally, it gets contrasting black alloy wheels with disc brakes at both ends.
Being a maxi-scooter, it gets lots of storage space in the driver's footwell area. Meanwhile, the single seat is long and wide enough to accommodate two passengers easily. Also, the flat footboard means that it can further be used for ferrying luggage. However, the main talking point is its digital colour TFT display. The digital screen displays vital info with animations. Additionally, the ZT gets keyless start/stop, two USB charging ports, & a tyre pressure monitoring system as well.
Zontes has used a 125cc single-cylinder high-compression engine on the ZT. However, this SOHC powertrain is liquid-cooled. Hence, the ZT makes power in the likes of Yamaha Aerox 155. It produces a peak power of 32.85 bhp and 32 Nm of peak torque. However, the kerb weight of the ZT is high at 166kg. Other features include telescopic front suspension, a 12-litre fuel tank for long range, & 14-inch alloy wheels.
Verdict
Zontes is sold in India via Adishwar Auto Group. In addition to Zontes, Benelli & Keeway which are also sibling companies of it, are sold in India. Hence, we can not deny that the ZT125-M can make it to the Indian market. However, the possibility of it is still far away; maybe by 2023 end. In terms of competition, it will rival Suzuki Burgman Street 125 in India. It's expected price tag is Rs 1.25 lakh.
