Royal Enfield Hunter 350

| Review & Win

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 recently launched the new Factory Custom Workshop which offers several modifications and customisations to make your motorcycle the only one on the roads. However, the Hunter 350 is lighter than other motorcycles of the brand, so we can’t consider it lighter and super easy to control. The RE Hunter 350 is available in two variants and eight colour options- the Dapper Green for the Metro trim is my personal favourite. The Hunter 350 is powered by the same 349cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that powers other 350cc RE motorcycles. In terms of features, the Hunter 350 gets basic features such as a dual-channel ABS (Metro trim), digital inset for fuel gauge, optional tripper navigation pod and much more.

Variant Recommendation

author

Royal Enfield offers the Hunter in three different variants: Retro Factory, Metro Dapper, and Metro Rebel. The retro version has spoke rims with tube-type tyres and a rear drum brake. The Metro variants come with alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and a rear disc brake. We recommend buying the Metro variants due to the alloy wheels and better colour options. Also, the top model offers an LED taillight that helps it look even better on the road.

Expert Verdict on Hunter 350

Design7
Comfort8
Performance9

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is a very well-built and sorted city motorcycle. Its design is modern, its engine performance is very tractable, and the big service network of Royal Enfield is an assurance in itself. The only downside of this complete package is the stiff rear suspension and lack of features.

Pros & Cons of Royal Enfield Hunter 350

  • What we admire in this bike

    • Design is new & fresh as per Royal Enfield standards
    • Pricing is aggressive
    • Engine has enough grunt for exciting city performance
    • Brakes offer good stopping power
    • Agile handling makes it easy to ride in the city
  • What could have been better

    • Rear suspension is very stiff
    • Lacks outright punch on the highway
    • Looks small in size
    • Less features compared to the rivals

Should I buy the Hunter 350?

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the latest entrant in the 350cc lineup of the company. It has a new design that we’ve never seen on any Royal Enfield before. It looks retro as well as modern. Also, the quality, fit, & finish of the bike is very good. Its small size and less weight make it an easy-handling bike inside the city. Also, its engine has very good low-end torque that makes it even easier to ride. But, with a stiff rear suspension & less features, it might not appeal to everyone. We recommend it to those who want the torquey engine performance of Royal Enfield but with a fresh & youthful design.

Design & Features 7
  • The Hunter 350 has a different design than the rest of the bikes from Royal Enfield. It looks beautiful & proportionate from every angle. Also, the modern roadster layout is youthful & attractive to young buyers who don’t want a retro bike. But, the size of the bike is small. The front profile has good road presence but it might look as big from the rear as it looks from the front. Overall, we liked its design along with good build quality & paint quality.
  • In terms of features, it is barren if compared with rivals like TVS Ronin. There’s only a handful of things on offer. It gets the semi-digital instrument console from the Meteor 350 that has no Bluetooth connectivity and no GPS either. Also, there’s a small USB phone charger underneath this console. It doesn’t even get LED lights or LED indicators. The top variant comes with an LED taillight.

Surprisingly, the main competitor of the Hunter is its sibling bike i.e. the standard Bullet 350. The Hunter 350 is meant for buyers who want a youthful bike with modern design aesthetics. The Bullet 350 is designed with the iconic retro design & it is more about the feel. Both models are based on the J-series platform and have the same engine. Due to its lightweight, the Hunter has better handling & a little bit better performance than the Bullet 350. Go for the Hunter only if you want a sort of modern bike, else, the Bullet 350 solves the purpose.

Another main rival of the Hunter is the neo-retro roadster by Honda i.e. the Hness CB350. It has a good build quality & it offers more features than the Hunter. Also, the ride quality, engine performance, & exhaust sound of the CB350 is better. However, its long gear ratios are a letdown in city riding & the smaller number of showrooms is also a big issue with it. Out of the two, we recommend buying the Hunter due to its torquey engine & better service centre availability pan India.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 combines retro styling with modern functionality, ideal for urban and casual riders. Its 349cc engine delivers around 20.2 hp and 27 Nm torque, offering smooth performance and a refined ride. Its lightweight frame and low seat height make handling easy, even for beginners. However, limited ground clearance may impact off-road capabilities. Key Points: Engine: 349cc, 20.2 hp, and 27 Nm torque Comfort: Upright seating, suitable for city rides Handling: Lightweight and agile for easy maneuvering Style: Retro-inspired, appealing design Limitations: Low ground clearance, less ideal for rugged terrains

Latest On Royal Enfield Hunter 350

Last Updated on 20th Aug'24: With prices ranging between Rs 1.49 lakh to Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the Hunter 350 received two new paint schemes this year; Dapper Green and Dapper Orange. Powered by the same 350cc J-Series engine, the Hunter is the best choice for someone looking to get their first ‘big’ bike.

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 retains its timeless charm with a classic round headlamp, a single extended seat, and a roadster-inspired stance, complemented by modern features. Although there have been no recent updates on this model, there are reports of two newly designed RE logos being trademarked. Speculation suggests these logos may be intended for a new brand, accessories line, or other ventures.
