There is a Pulsar for everyone; if you ever head to the Bajaj website, you will understand what I am referring to. From the small 125, to the 150, the NS, the RS, the N series, Bajaj seems to be plugging all gaps. The Bajaj Pulsar N160 has proven to be a formidable threat to the TVS Apache RTR 1604V. With its recent set of upgrades, it is now available only in dual-channel ABS versions.

Bajaj Pulsar N160 Variants

The Pulsar N160 can now be had in two variants; dual-channel ABS, and dual-channel ABS with USD. Prices for the former begin from Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom), while the latter can be had from Rs 1.39 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Pulsar N160 Dual-Channel ABS

Starting with the lower variant, the N160 Dual-Channel ABS, which gives you the option of three paint schemes; Polar Sky Blue, Pearl Metallic White, and Brooklyn Black. In terms of equipment, you get a USB charging socket, and the new reverse-backlit LCD screen with bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, and fuel-related information.

2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160

The Pulsar N160 Dual-Channel ABS with USD, as the name suggests, adds 33mm golden USD forks at the front, while the rear continues to be a monoshock. Further additions include a new Glossy Racing Red paint scheme, turn-by-turn navigation, three ABS modes; rain, road, and off-road.

Everything else on the Pulsar N160 remains the same bas before, which means it continues with the 164cc engine churning out 15.6bhp and 14.65Nm of torque. The front forks continue to be 37mm units, both in USD and conventional form, while the rear gets a Nitrox monoshock unit. In terms of braking equipment, the Pulsar N160 uses a 300mm disc with dual-piston callipers, and a 280mm disc with a single-piston calliper.

Verdict

At this price point, the Pulsar N160 is certainly a rather tantalizing option for those looking to buy a performance motorcycle without a burning a hole too deep in their wallets. With its latest set of upgrades, the competition between the N160 and the Apache RTR 1604V has only gotten tougher.
