Electric start
The presence of an electric starter button might not be a big deal anymore, but for entry-level 100cc commuters like Hero HF Deluxe, it is a big bonus. Barring its cheapest variant, the HF Deluxe comes equipped with an electric starter in addition to the conventional kick starter.
Competition CheckWhile the HF Deluxe gets a Kick Starter only in its mid- and high-spec variants, its rivals, the Bajaj Platina 100 and TVS Sport, get this feature as standard.
Side stand engine cut-off
The side stand engine cut-off feature, which adds to both convenience and safety for the rider, is now standard in all Hero MotoCorp offerings, including the HF Deluxe. Under this feature, the rider cannot start the motorcycle until the side stand isn't lifted off.
Competition checkOnly the Hero HF Deluxe, Bajaj Platina 100, and TVS Sport have a side stand engine cut-off feature.
Idle Start-Stop System
Another feature that has become common among all Hero MotoCorp scooters and motorcycles today is the idle start-stop system, which is a big boon for efficiency-centric motorcycles like the HF Deluxe. This feature shuts off the engine when the bike is brought to a halt during a ride. However, at a simple throttle twist, the engine returns to life. This feature saves fuel in stop-go traffic, eventually increasing the HF Deluxe's mileage.
Competition check: The Hero HF Deluxe's higher-spec variants offer an idle start-stop system, while the Platina 100 and TVS Sport lack this feature.
Engine Cut-Off At Fall
This is another safety feature that gives the HF Deluxe an edge over other entry-level commuter motorcycles from other brands. As per this feature, whenever a rider encounters a fall, the HF Deluxe's engine shuts off to prevent further damage.
Competition check No such feature exists in the Bajaj Platina 100 and TVS Sport.

Alloy wheels
Previously, the Hero HF Deluxe came with spoke wheels in the lower variants and alloy wheels in the higher-spec variants. However, with the latest update, the Hero HF Deluxe has alloy wheels across its entire lineup.

Verdict
While the overall equipment list of the HF Deluxe might still feel basic to many, the current equipment list is beneficial to the targeted customers of this motorcycle. The only feature Hero HF Deluxe misses out on when compared to its rivals is a daytime running LED, which is available in Bajaj Platina 100. However, the segment-exclusive safety features like side stand engine cut-off, idle start-stop system, and engine cut-off at fall do give the HF Deluxe an edge over the Platina 100 and TVS Sport, which are almost similarly priced to the higher-spec variants of the HF Deluxe.
