Hero Xtreme 125R Engine
The heart of this motorcycle is an all-new 'SPRINT' engine, which stands for Smooth Power Response and Instant Torque, making 11 bhp and 10.5 Nm of torque through its 124.7cc air cooled engine. The 0 to 60 km distance is covered in 5.9 seconds at full throttle. Additionally, the mileage is fantastic, at 66 kmpl in almost every condition.
This is a very smooth engine, and it is always ready to be revved hard. Low-end torque is fantastic, which is most needed in city conditions, and the top speed is 110 km/h.
Hero Xtreme 125R Variants
IBS
The first of the two variants of the Hero Xtreme 125R costs Rs 95,000 ex-showroom. It includes all the features mentioned in its advertisements, except for the single-channel ABS. Now, lets take a look at all the features of this bike in the table below.
Features in the Hero Xtreme 125R IBS |
Sporty Muffler Cover |
All LED Setup |
LED Hazard lamps |
LED Headlamps, tail light and DRLs |
LCD Display |
37 mm front fork SHOWA suspension |
Side stand indicator |
monocoque rear suspension |
Integerated braking system |

Cobalt Blue Paint |
Firestorm Red |
Stallion Black |

Single Channel ABS
In the second variant of the this motorcycle, single-channel ABS is equipped, for which Hero charges Rs 99,500 ex-showroom. The rear wheel doesn't get a disc, but the overall braking of the bike is outstanding. In a situation where instant braking is required, the big brake bites, and the ABS will stop the bike with full force.
The back wheel has a drum setup; however, that doesn't affect its braking prowess because the 120/80 - section rear wheel fits perfectly on the Xtreme 125R. Out of these two variants, the ABS one is preferred because additional safety never disappoints. Considering our Indian driving style and its unpredictability, safety features play a big role and can help in several unexpected circumstances.
All the features are the same as those in the IBS model.

Verdict
This is a fantastic product, ideal for young individuals seeking an affordable, stylish bike for college or office commutes. Beyond its attractive appearance, its also highly efficient, achieving an impressive mileage of 66 kmpl. For a first-time biker, this will be a delight.
Out of the two variants, I suggest going with the ABS one because prioritizing safety over anything else has become imperative on Indian roads. No one can predict our road conditions; you never know if a cow or buffalo will appear out of nowhere, a vehicle will head toward you abruptly, or some drivers will be on the wrong side of the road. So, go with the ABS variant if you want to purchase the Hero Xtreme 125R; it costs only Rs 4,500 more.
