For example, the new LED DRLs and headlights are slimmer and appears heavily inspired from Toyota Prius. Then the new grille is large and features a hammer head design that gives it an aggressive looking face. Compared with its rival, Skoda Superb has a quintissential european modern look with bold LED headlights, Skoda signature grille and wide body design.
From a dimensions perspective, the Camry is larger than the Superb, but the latter comes with a longer wheelbase, which translates to better legroom.
Powertrain Comparison
Toyota has added a new 5th-generation hybrid battery setup to complement the all-new 2.5L Dynamic Force engine, which together produces 230 PS and 221 Nm of torque, allowing the car to propel itself via an eCVT transmission. The 2.5L naturally aspirated engine alone produces 187 PS, which is more than enough for an exhilarating driving experience. In terms of fuel efficiency, it achieves 25.49 kmpl.
The Skoda Superb also offers just one engine: a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The only gearbox available is a 7-speed DSG. The ARAI mileage of the Skoda Superb is 15.1 kmpl, but owners report an actual mileage of 12 to 13 kmpl at best.
Features Comparison
The all-new Camry hits the ball out of the park when it comes to features. For starters, it has ADAS, 3-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, and powered, ventilated front seats with lumbar support. Talking about tech, the central infotainment screen is now 12.3 inches, serving as the hub for all the necessary information that both passengers and the driver need to know about the car. From wireless connectivity to the 360-degree parking camera, everything is displayed here.
The second screen is an 8-inch driver's display, and there is another 10-inch head-up display. Lastly, there is one more screen placed at the rear armrest, which controls the media, automatic AC, and adjustable seats.
Talking about safety features, Toyota adds 9 airbags and introduces ADAS, which is not Level 2 but Level 1. It comes with 5 main safety features.
- Lane Trace Assist
- Lane Departure Assist
- Pre-collision system
- Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Automatic High Beam
- 360-panaromic view monitoring
Talking about the Skoda Superb's features, let's start with the ones missing in this sedan:
No ADAS, no controls for rear passengers, no head-up display, and a smaller 8-inch infotainment screen. However, you do get powered and ventilated front seats with 3 memory functions. Additionally, the driver's display is digital, and there is wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on offer. To access all the important details of your car, there is the My Skoda Connected app
Compared to the Camry, it does feel outdated, but it doesn't lose out on features that might turn you off. That said, in Superb too there, are 9 airbags, 3-zone climate control, bose mode, park assist and 360-camera.
Price Comparison
The new 5th-generation Toyota Camry is available in just one variant, priced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Skoda Superb also offers just one variant, the Laurin and Klement, priced at Rs 54 lakh (ex-showroom).

Verdict
The Skoda Superb should be your choice if you also desire to own a driver's car, as superior driving pleasure is another advantage of this vehicle. The Toyota Camry, on the other hand, has always been considered a chauffeur-driven car and is not typically regarded as fun to drive. So, if you plan to spend all your time in the back seat, simply book the Toyota Camry and also save money with its low running costs. In terms of features, the Superb does feel outdated, and according to several media reports, the new generation will be launched in 2025. Let's wait and see.
