The moment we questioned ourselves that whether Datsun will continue to bring in the 2020 Redi-Go in its BS6 avatar, they ended up teasing us with its facelift teaser. The entry-level hatchback from Datsun that competes with the Maruti Alto800 packs in a new style, features, and an upgraded engine to meet the BS6 emission norms.

Sharing more details on the 2020 Datsun Redi-GO BS6 facelift version via the two official images, it packs in a new front fascia. The big L-shaped LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) are quite visible from the images along with the revised, sharper headlight unit. It's safe to say that both the grille and bumper have been redesigned - infact, the grille seems to have grown up size further! These large DRLs remind us of the Mahindra XUV300 that also has the same layout in the top spec trims.
Lurking more into the teased image, the side profile will get a new alloy wheel-like design for the wheel caps that will be reserved for higher trims only. The rear profile also might see tweaked taillights along with the bumper design. The side profile more or less remains the same. We can also expect new color changes with the hatchback.
Under the hood, Datsun will continue to use both the 0.8-litre and 1.0L, naturally aspirated petrol engines which comes with 5-speed manual transmission. One also gets the option of an optional AMT gearbox but that is reserved with the bigger engine only. We recommend this for urban runs
The 0.8L in its BS4 form used to make 54 bhp while the 1.0L engine used to put out 68 bhp on tap. It is not sure whether these engines will continue to offer the same output and ARAI fuel efficiency in the new BS6 iteration.

Once launched they will compete with the likes of Maruti Alto800 and Renault Kwid. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
