Hero MotoCorp is the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world. This Indian two-wheeler giant is known for making affordable and best-in-class commuter motorcycles. The company recently organised a magnificent event called 'Hero World 2020' in February this year. It was held at Hero's R&D facility, the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) located in Jaipur. The company showcased multiple products at this event and also launched the BS6 version of its most-selling commuters: Glamour 125 and Passion Pro 110. So, today we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 Hero Passion Pro BS6.

Hero Passion Pro BS6: What is it?

The new Hero Passion Pro BS6 is the successor of the BS4-compliant Passion Pro 110. It carries the legacy and brand name of the old Passion Pro but underneath it is a completely brand new motorcycle. It is a youthful 110cc commuter that is positioned between the 100cc entry-level bikes and 125cc premium commuters in Hero MotoCorp's India line-up. The new Passion Pro 110 BS6 sits on a new platform, gets an all-new BS6-compliant powerplant and new features.

Hero Passion Pro BS6: Looks, Dimensions and Colour Options

The new 2020 Hero Passion Pro BS6 looks much sportier and stylish compared to its predecessor. It gets a redesigned front-end with new headlamp cowl and it also gets a new taillamp. The side profile of the bike has also been updated and it now gets new sporty graphics with redesigned fairing and muscular fuel tank. It features a triple-tone colour scheme and is available in four different clour options. These are Glaze Black, Sports Red, Moon Yellow and Heavy Grey Metallic shades.

The old Passion Pro was based on a tubular double-cradle frame. But, the Passion Pro BS6 sits on an all-new diamond frame which has made it lighter than before. The weight reduction of the bike translates to better performance as well as more fuel-efficiency. It measures 2036 mm in length, 739 mm in width and 1113 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1270 mm and the saddle height stands at 799 mm. Passion Pro is very popular in rural markets too and thus it gets a high ground clearance of 180 mm (+15mm than BS4).

Hero Passion Pro BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage

The 2020 Hero Passion Pro gets an all-new BS6-compliant 113.2cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. It churns out 9.15 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 9.79 Nm of torque at 5000 RPM. When compared to BS4 engine, this new mill churns out 0.37 PS less power but 0.79 Nm more torque. It comes mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and like other Hero bikes, it also gets Hero's i3S (idle start-stop) system. This i3S system helps to maximise fuel efficiency and Hero also claims that it is 5 per cent more fuel-efficient than before. It delivers around 60-65 kmpl of mileage in real-world driving conditions.

Hero Passion Pro BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features

The new Passion Pro BS6 gets conventional telescopic front forks and spring-loaded dual shock-absorbers at the rear. For braking duties, it gets a 130 mm rear drum brake. While at the front, one can opt between a 240 mm disc and a 130 mm drum brake unit. It also gets an integrated-braking system (IBS). The bike runs on 80/100 section 18-inch tyres and it gets alloy wheels. The new Passion Pro also gets a semi-analogue semi-digital console. The speedometer is analogue while the other details are shown digitally.

The 2020 Hero Passion Pro BS6 is available in two variants: Self-start drum-brake alloy-wheel FI and Self-start disc-brake alloy-wheel FI. The Drum brake variant is priced at Rs. 65,740 while the Disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 67,940. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi. It rivals the likes of Honda CD 110 Dream, Hero HF Deluxe, Splendor i-Smart, TVS Radeon, etc. So, if you are someone who wants a stylish-looking commuter motorcycle with decent performance, good rideability and great mileage, then you should definitely consider buying the new Hero Passion Pro BS6.
