Mercedes-Benz has finally brought in the 2020 GLE at a price of Rs 73.70 lakh. And the top-spec GLE 400d goes higher till Rs 1.25 Crore. While the 300d is brought in via CKD route, the latter is a full import. And It is termed a Hip-hop edition. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
Sharing some more details about the design of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE then it packs a simple and old school design than its predecessor. It is more rounded than before but the good thing is, it gets a similar taste of styling like the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS.
The German SUV continues to retain the twin slat grille but with a tweaked design, new headlight design with dual LED bars and the rear profile sees new taillights. Sources say that the 300d trim of the SUV has been sold out till March 2020 and deliveries will commence from April this year.

Powering the GLE is two BS6 diesel engines that can be had in 300d and 400d. The former packs a 2.-litre turbocharged diesel engine which produces 245 bhp on tap and a maximum torque of 500 Nm.
The higher trim, 400d sources its power from a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine which generates 330 bhp with 700 Nm of whopping torque. This motor does 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.7 seconds. Transmission option for both sticks to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
Feature-wise, the SUV gets a huge panoramic sunroof, 360-degree parking camera, four-zone climate control, twin 12.3-inch displays (one for the infotainment system and other is an instrument cluster), powered tailgate, 64 colour ambient lighting and among others. The SUV also offers connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard along with What3words smart navigation system.

Safety features on the SUV include Seven Airbags, Blind sport mirror system, Autonomous emergency braking system, AIRMATIC air suspension, ABS with EBD, Cruise control and more. The higher trim, 400d, gets nine airbags.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLE competes with the likes of BMW X5, Audi Q5, Porsche Macan and Jaguar F-Pace. The SUV receives Mercedes 4MATIC all-wheel drive technology.
