Benelli Imperiale 400 is the best-selling Benelli motorcycle in the Indian market. The Imperiale 400 was launched in India for the first time in 2019. Upon launch, it became the most affordable motorcycle in the company's India line-up. Then in mid-2020, the bikemaker launched this retro cruiser in the BS6 compliant avatar and just last month reduced its price by 10,000 rupees, thanks to more localisation. Now, in today's article, we tell you the Pros and Cons of the new 2021 Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6.

2021 Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 Pros and Cons

PROS

Engine Performance - The new Benelli Imperiale 400 gets a BS6 compliant 374cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 21 PS of power at 6000 RPM and 29 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Imperiale 400 offers better performance than its arch-rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Styling and Colour Options - The Imperiale 400 is a retro motorcycle and it looks really good. The motorcycle gets subtle chrome inserts and blacked-out accents which make it look enchanting. Also, it is available with three different colour options. They are Silver, Red and Black colour.

Ergonomics - The Benelli Imperiale 400 is a very sorted motorcycle. It has relaxed ergonomics and one can comfortably sit on the saddle without any fatigue. It is a relaxed motorcycle and retro lovers will surely appreciate that.

Hardware - The Imperiale 400 gets telescopic forks at the front and dual spring-loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. For braking duties, it gets disc brakes at either end along with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Instrument Cluster - The instrument cluster of the Benelli Imperiale 400 is one of the best, if not the best, in the segment. It gets a semi-analogue semi-digital cluster. There are analogue dials with a MID or a multi-information display in between that displays a host of information.

Price - The price was once a negative point of the Imperiale 400 BS6 but now since its price has been reduced, it's a positive of the motorcycle.

CONS

No LEDs - The Benelli Imperiale 400 doesn't get LED lights at all. Benelli should have offered atleast LED DRLs and LED taillamp.

Weight - The Benelli Imperiale 400 is a heavy motorcycle. At 205 kgs, it is quite heavy and its weight can be felt while riding at slow speeds in traffic.

Tubed Tyres - The front tyre of the Imperiale 400 measures 100/90-19 while the rear one is a 130/80 section 18-inch unit and since it gets spoke wheels, they are tubed tyres.
