Skoda Auto India Private Limited had a great 2020! As we all know that this Czech car manufacturer launched multiple vehicles last year in the Indian market. In May 2020, Skoda organised a large digital launch event in which the company launched not just one or two but three new cars. They were the all-new Skoda Karoq, Superb Facelift and the BS6-compliant Rapid TSI. The new Rapid TSI was very aggressively priced with a starting price of just Rs. 7.49 lakhs, Ex-showroom pan-India. However, soon the base variant of the Rapid was discontinued. But now, it's time to rejoice as the Rapid Rider is back once again! Skoda has re-launched the new 2021 Skoda Rapid Rider BS6 variant and it has been priced at Rs. 7.79 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
As we have already mentioned before, the company has re-launched the new 2021 Skoda Rapid Rider BS6 at Rs. 7.79 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. The base Rider variant has now got a price hike of around Rs. 30,000 when compared to its original launch price. Now, talking about the new 2021 Skoda Rapid Rider BS6, so it remains the same as before and doesn't get any mechanical and cosmetic changes or new feature add-ons. The base Rider variant comes equipped with basic amenities like an automatic AC, electric power windows for all four doors, scuff plates with model name inscription, a 2 DIN audio player, etc. It also gets basic safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Parktronic reverse parking sensors, etc. The top models of the new Rapid come loaded with a lot of other goodies too. However, the most value for money variant of the new Rapid TSI is the recently launched Rider Plus variant. The Skoda Rapid Rider Plus gets a large 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The new Skoda Rapid gets a petrol engine only as Skoda has ditched the oil-burners from its Indian portfolio. All the variants of the new Skoda Rapid are powered by a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This is the same engine that also powers the new Volkswagen Polo and Vento. This motor churns out 110 PS of power between 5000-5500 RPM and 175 Nm of peak torque between 1750-4000 RPM.
