Volkswagen is planning to launch multiple products in India in the coming months. Under the brand's new SUVW strategy, the German carmaker will be launching not just one or two but four SUVs in India. They are the new Volkswagen Taigun, VW T-Roc, Tiguan Facelift and the Tiguan Allspace. VW has just unveiled the new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift for India. Here we have for you all the details about this new premium German SUV.
The Volkswagen Tiguan was first launched in India in 2017. Upon launch, it was the carmaker's flagship product in India and was available with a TDI diesel engine only. The Tiguan TDI was on sale in India till early 2020 but then BS6 emission norms kicked in and it was discontinued. Now, after a hiatus of one year, the VW Tiguan is making a comeback in India but with plenty of updates. The all-new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan Facelift has been finally revealed. It gets minor nip and tuck, a new powertrain and more.

For starters, it gets a new radiator grille with sharp all-LED headlights that also house the LED DRLs along with redesigned bumpers. The Tiguan now gets plenty of chrome accents too which will surely appeal the Indian car buyers. From the side profile, one can notice its new 18-inch multi-spoke Frankfurt alloys and chrome surrounds around the window line. Then, at the rear, the new Tiguan gets re-designed LED taillamps with again some chrome accents. The SUV gets body cladding all-around with skid plates at the front and rear. The interior of the new Tiguan hasn't been revealed yet.

The new VW Tiguan Facelift will be powered by a BS6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine with a direct injection system. This motor will churn out 190 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The motor will come mated to a 7-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) to offer good drivability and lightning-fast gear shifts. It will get VW's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system too.
