Kawasaki W175 Details
The new W175 is planned to be launched in the upcoming festive season. However, its design will carry shared elements from its bigger sibling like the W800. The W800 is also on sale in India and it is expected to get an update soon as well. Meanwhile, the W175 is going to have a smaller body and dimensions. Upon its launch, it will become the most-affordable bike from Kawasaki in India. The overall design is generic and it supports the commuter segment standard of India. However, Kawasaki will equip it with its prime engineering & reliable technology.
Speaking of its design, it will hold a generic bare-bone sculpture. The round headlight, minimal body panels, & wired wheels make up for it. Additionally, there is not much amount of tech features on offer. It is expected to get a round instrument cluster with a semi-digital display. However, the heart of it comprises a 177cc, sing;e-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine makes peak power of 13 bhp & 13.2 Nm of peak torque. A 5-speed gearbox will complete the duties of transmission. However, the Indian government rules equate that it will have a BS6-compliant engine.
Meanwhile, it might look weak on paper but it indeed is a nimble bike. Weighed at just 135 kg, the W175 makes up for a light and handy city bike. The 17-inch tyres mean that buyers can opt for various choices of modifications as well. However, the nimble weight will surely help for class-leading fuel economy figures. It is being reported that Kawasaki will localize it heavily. This means the prices can even go down from the expected tag of Rs 1.5 lakh.
Nevertheless, we are all waiting for its official launch on September 25. Upon its launch, it will rival the likes of KTM Duke 125 & Yamaha MT-15.
