Keeway's upcoming model has already been spied on in India. The 2022 Keeway SR125 bike is going to be launched in the upcoming weeks. Meanwhile, we present to you its top 5 main highlights that are known to us for now.
2022 Keeway SR125 Bike Design
The main highlight of the SR125 is its rugged design. One can easily make out the design resemblance of a scrambler in the SR125. The front equips with a round headlight and chunky telescopic forks with a forks gaiter kit. The front fender is also short mimicking the design appeal inspired by scramblers. The rugged appeal and upright riding position help make it look like a bigger-capacity bike. Additionally, the sculpted fuel tank and the single-piece seat also add up to butch appeal. Meanwhile, the rear end features a short-tail design with a small round LED taillight & round LED indicators.
2022 Keeway SR125 Bike Features
Keeway is known for fitting its products with the latest tech. The recently launched Keeway V302C is a good example of it. Meanwhile, the upcoming SR125 is the no different case either. One of the main highlights in its features list is the round all-digital instrument pod. It has been placed above the center of the handlebar and looks properly modern and retro in styling. Although, the spy pics didn't showcase what it looks like when switched on. But, we are expecting it to carry multiple info tabs as well as Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. Meanwhile, it will also offer contrasting paint schemes that are well-loved by the Indian market.
Keeway SR125 Engine
Now, Keeway is going to place it against the premium rivals of the 125cc segment. These include the KTM Duke 125 & the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 mainly. To compete with such well-established rivals, the engine is going to be decently powerful. Hence, we are expecting that it will feature a single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine might make a peak power output of around 10 bhp and a peak torque of around 9 Nm. However, the anticipations say that a 5-speed transmission will be used on the SR125. Going by the other models of Keeway India, we suspect that its performance might be at par with the rivals. However, no claims can be made until we ride this bike once it is launched in India.
Keeway SR125 Specifications
As it is based around rugged styling, its specifications are very interesting. Firstly, it features all-purpose chunky tyres. These tyres have been draped on the spoked wheels on both ends. However, we don't think there are tubeless tyres due to the cost factor. Meanwhile, the front suspension is a telescopic fork setup. At the rear, we can spot the dual spring-type tubular suspension. The rear tyre also has a fat width equating to better off-road handling. We suppose that Keeway has constructed it in a way that users can take it to soft trail rides any time they want.
Keeway SR125 Price
No official release date or price has been revealed until now. But, going by the segment rival's pricing, we suspect that it won't be priced above Rs 2 lakh. However, we can not be very sure as Kawasaki W175 has been recently launched in India at quite a steep price. We're anticipating that the SR125 might launch in the coming weeks as the spotted model is already showroom-ready. Hence, the SR125 is going to be on sale on or before the end of 2022.
