2022 KIA EV6 Scores 5-Star Safety Rating In ANCAP Test

2022 KIA EV6 scored a brilliant 5-star safety rating in the ANCAP crash test. The new electric car is set to launch on June 2 in India.

KIA is set to launch its flagship product in India on June 2. The 2022 KIA EV6 will be the premium & exclusive offering from the Korean car manufacturer in India. Bookings for the limited 100 units have begun from today onwards. The upcoming EV will be launched as a CBU (completely built unit). To check every Knick and knack; KIA EV6 is now crash-tested as well. The EV6 scored a brilliant 5-star rating in the ANCAP crash test.

KIA EV6 ANCAP Crash Test

The Australasia New Car Assessment Program conducts rigorous crash tests for the new cars. The tests ensure the safety standards and procedures to provide the buyers with the correct safety rating for the vehicle. The upcoming EV6 also went through the tests recently.

2022 KIA EV6 crash test

According to the test results, the EV scored a full 5 out of 5 stars in ANCAP results. The front passenger safety is deemed now as 'Good' while the rear passenger safety is declared as 'Adequate' as per the test results. The passenger compartment of EV6 remains stable in the frontal offset MPDB test.

The KIA EV6 is based on the Hyundai-developed e-GMP (global modular platform). This platform is based on the fitment of the battery pack on the floor of the chassis. This helps provide the EV6 with more safety, better efficiency, & enhanced performance as well.

EV6 Launch & Price

The EV6 electric car will launch officially on June 2 in India. The bookings have begun with an amount of Rs 3 lakhs from today itself. KIA will sell a limited batch of 100 cars only in India. As the car will launch via the CBU route, the expected price remains in the range of Rs 60 lakhs. The main competition is the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV which is also set to launch in the coming months.
