Mahindra Scorpio is one of the most anticipated cars of 2022 and it will be launching soon in the Indian market. Several spy shots of the same, be it in the treacherous Himalayas or on the highways doing speed runs have been caught and uploaded on the internet. An all-new dashboard design, infotainment are some of the things spied before but captain seats along with new features are a new update of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio.
Mahindra will bring the 2022 Scorpio with a 6 and 7-seat layout. The former will have captain seats in the middle row while the 7-seater option will continue with a bench for the middle row. The third row too is now expected to feature a bench set-up as opposed to the side facing jump seats seen on the ongoing model.
Going by the spy shot images, several other details can be seen. The new Scorpio will not get a single-pane sunroof that will be larger in size, a 360-degree camera and rear disc brakes. The 360-degree camera is usually helpful to the driver to park the SUV in tight spaces.

We can also expect wireless charging along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for higher variants.
Sharing the list of safety equipment on offer, it is expected to get multiple airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors and electronic stability control. Other features like a high-speed alert system, speed-sensing door locks, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD will follow as before.

Mechanically, Mahindra will use the same 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre mStallion petrol unit that are available in XUV700 and Thar. Once launched, the 2022 Scorpio will feature both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrains. A 6-speed manual transmission will be made standard for both the engines while there are rumours about the 6-speed automatic gearbox as well.
