- Misses out on the third screen papped during Expo showcase
Tata Sierra was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 in all its glory, and while we had a good enough look at its exteriors, the interiors were locked away from prying eyes. Although we peeked inside and got a look at the insides and deciphered what's to come, the patent images have been surfacing online one by one. After the steering wheel was already out, the patent images for the dashboard design are now out, revealing all that is now coming with the Sierra. Tata Sierra Dashboard Design Patent Surfaces: Dual-Screen Layout

Taking a deeper look at the image, the Tata Sierra is going for a sophisticated dashboard design with a touchscreen infotainment system in the middle and a housing for a digital driver's instrument cluster with the usual four-spoke steering wheel, whose design patent was already shared previously and borrows the current unit being employed with the other stablemates. The AC vents are clearly visible in a sleek layout below the infotainment screen and towards both ends of the unit. What's interesting is the fact that a triple screen layout, like the one seen on the unit at the Expo, which was the passenger touchscreen unit, is missing. Is that something for the higher variants or skipped altogether? Something we will have to wait out and see.

As for the features inside the cabin, considering the iconic Sierra is being resurrected, it will be a rich affair, leading the pack of the Tata portfolio. Although Tata is yet to disclose the complete feature set, the upcoming vehicle is anticipated to boast a technologically advanced interior, including Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. Aligning with Tata's emphasis on safety, a high safety rating is expected, supported by features such as a 7-airbag system, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill start assist, and all-four disc brakes.

Engine Details:
Though the details regarding powertrain option specifics are scarce, it is already been revealed that the Sierra will be available with multiple options, hinting at ICE and EV iterations. It is likely that the Sierra in its ICE guise will be powered by the 2.0L Kryotec engine that churns out 170PS power and 350Nm of torque with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox options like the Harrier/Safari twins. Also on offer will be a 1.5L turbo petrol mill and an EV iteration as well that could potentially carry a 60-80 kWh battery pack, promising a range of 500+ km on a single charge.
Verdict
The Sierra would be an aspirational project for the brand where it plans to ressurect the iconic charming Sierra to rule the roads. The eye catchy part of the SUV is the expansive glass area that is unique to this model, but the brand will be pushing it as the flagship of its portfolio, especially after the Tata Safari couldn't manage to rake in the numbers Tata hoped it would.
