The 1.5L, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated motor gets paired to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and gets a CVT as an option. This motor churns out 108 bhp of power at 6000 RPM with a peak torque of 144 Nm at 4,400 RPM.

The base variant of the MG Astor that only gets a 1.5L petrol motor with a 5-speed manual transmission now gets a PM 2.5 filter with the AC filter, wheel covers and wheel arch cladding. The carmaker has also removed two USB ports from this variant and now it comes with 3 ports instead of the 5 that were present earlier.

This 1.3L, turbocharged petrol motor belts out 138 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 220 Nm. Its rivals Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun make 148 bhp of power and a peak torque of 250 Nm with their 1.5L TSI motor and the 1.4L turbo unit found in the South Korean rivals produces peak power and torque of 138 bhp and 242 Nm. MG Astor turbo petrol gets mated to a 6-speed torque converter as standard.
