The Czech carmaker, Skoda has rejigged the trims of the Kushaq and the 2022 version now receives several new features as standard. Earlier this year, Skoda India deleted some features from the Kushaq citing the shortage of semiconductor chips.
The 8.0-inch digital driver's display which was seen in the Monte Carlo variant and Slavia top-spec trim is now available in the Style variant of the Kushaq. Similarly, another feature like a push-button start now comes as standard across all trims.
Earlier this month, the carmaker introduced a non-sunroof variant to the Style that costs Rs 20,000 less. It is limited to the smaller, 1.0L TSI motor only and is produced in order to garner more sales. Other than deleting the sunroof, this non-sunroof Style trim now also miss out on auto-dimming IRVM, automatic rain-sensing wipers and a 16-inch spare wheel. It now gets a 15-inch spare wheel as a replacement.
The carmaker also brought in the Active Peace variant sans music system and that was silently launched at Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It attracted tax benefits and appealed to a lot of buyers. However, it was discontinued shorty after its launch.

Mechanically, the 2022 Skoda Kushaq is powered by two engine options - 1.0L TSI and a more powerful, 1.5L TSI. The former produces 114 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 178 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed stick shift as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.
The bigger and punchier, 1.5L, turbocharged stratified injection motor belts out 148 bhp of power with a maximum torque of 250 Nm. This engine too gets a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while for the automatic, it receives a 7-speed DSG unit.

Skoda Kushaq is priced from Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It rivals Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun and Nissan Kicks.
