VW just unveiled the 2022 Virtus and the bookings for the same have commenced. The official launch will happen in the third week of May and we expect the prices to start from Rs 11 lakh and the top of the line GT variant will fetch till Rs 18 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Powered by two engine options - 1.0L TSI that is also called the Dynamic Line and the more powerful 1.5L TSI or known as the Performance Line. The former generates as much as 114 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 178 Nm.
The more powerful 1.5L TSI produces 148 bhp of power on tap with 250 Nm of maximum torque. Both the engines get a 6-speed manual transmission as standard fitment while for the automatic, the 1.0L TSI is equipped with a 6-speed torque converter and the 1.5L TSI gets a 7-speed DSG.

VW Virtus is a successor to the Vento and gets larger dimensions than it. It measures 4,561 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, 1507 mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. The wheelbase is the highest in the segment and measures identical to that of Skoda Slavia. The boot space capacity of the VW Virtus is similar as Skoda Slavia and measures 521 litres.
Feature-wise, it gets a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, LED headlights, ventilated front leather seats, cooled glove box, an electric sunroof and more.
Safety features include a tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic differential lock, hydraulic brake boosters, all adjustable headrests, hill hold control, electronic stability control, multi-collision brakes and more. In total, VW Virtus is equipped with more than 40 safety features.
