New Gen Tata Altroz CNG

The recently spotted test mule was covered in heavy camouflage. The front profile gets sharper headlamps, which we've seen in the previous test mules. It is expected to get repositioned LED DRLs, new LED headlamps, and a redesigned bumper at the front. The rear profile will also get refreshed taillamps and a bumper. Another major highlight here is the steel rims; the test mule was fitted with steel rims, unlike the previous test mules, which were fitted with alloys. This hints that the brand is testing the lower variants of the CNG powertrain as well.
The interior of the upcoming Altroz and Altroz CNG is set to receive an updated layout. The screens on the dashboard were covered with a black sheet, but we anticipate the new generation will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, along with a new digital instrument cluster. The dashboard is also expected to get piano black treatment around the AC vent surrounds. Additionally, the new Altroz will sport a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, just like other modern Tata models.

On the features front, we can expect the CNG model to get a single pane electric sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, among other features.
New Gen Altroz CNG - Powertrain
The new-gen Altroz CNG will continue to get the same 1.2-litre petrol + CNG engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine generates 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of peak torque in the CNG mode. The brand will continue to offer its dual-cylinder technology.

Verdict
Tata Altroz is one of the top-selling premium hatchback in the Indian market and it is long due for an update. The upcoming Altroz will be launched with a new-generation model not as a facelift. It is expected to get refreshed design, more features, and enhanced in cabin experience. However, we don't expect any changes in terms of engine specification and performance. The new Altroz will continue to go head on with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno & Hyundai i20.
