Honda CB350 Cafe Racer - Details
Speaking of the upcoming model, it is based on the current 350 lineups. However, Honda is going to attempt to hit a new segment with it. Possibly to be called a Cafe Racer, this model will get a unique design. Honda recently conducted a dealers-only event where this model was showcased. In order to get insights from the dealers, the production-ready bike was displayed. A total of three new models were on display. The most prominent was the cafe racer with blue & red paint options.
Look closely, the spy photos show that both cafe racers are different. Honda has treated the blue-shade bike with more chrome parts. Meanwhile, the red-painted bike gets a sporty matte black contrast. Some of the changed elements of design are - a new sculpted fuel tank, a single-piece seat with a cowl, a new headlight cowl, new alloy wheels, etc. Ideally, both models will be the same but may be placed as different variants itself. Moreover, the engine and technical details are expected to be the same in Cafe Racer. LED headlight, semi-digital instrument console, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, & USB phone charging will be on offer.
As Honda has made this bike on the CB350 RS platform, it'll get the same engine. The 350cc, single-cylinder engine will continue in an RDE norm-compliant nature. This engine makes a peak power of 21 bhp & 30 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, a 5-speed gearbox is fitted to deliver this power. Meanwhile, a third model was also on display. It is basically Hness 350 itself but with new accessories. It had a pillion backrest, a windshield, knuckle guards, etc. Hence, these new accessories might also launch soon for current buyers.
Verdict
The CB350 model has proved to be a warrior for HMSI. It sells in decent numbers and competes well with rivals like Royal Enfield Hunter 350. However, with the addition of a new variant; Honda will expand its lineup and choices for new customers. We're expecting the launch of this new Cafe Racer in the coming days. Expected pricing will be a few thousand more than the current 350 models from Honda.
