Honda India is all set to launch the 2023 facelift of its top-selling sedan Honda City. The 5th Gen Honda City was first introduced in 2020 and it is finally getting a mid-life facelift after 3 years. The 2023 Honda City will boast some minor aesthetic changes, addition of new interior features and the inclusion of Honda Sensing ADAS system. 2023 Honda City
Regarding the exterior adjustments, the facelifts receive a new honeycomb grille in top models and vertical slats in lower variants. Also included is a new front bumper with accents made to look like carbon fiber. The front headlamps, DRLs and fog lamps comes with the same design as the current model. The vehicle has not changed in any way on the sides, but it appears that the ground clearance is slightly higher. The ICE model now features an integrated tailgate spoiler, similar to the one on the strong hybrid version, and the rear bumper and reflector design have also been changed.
Honda has upgraded the interior with a new user interface for the touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charging pad stored in the front cup holders. To compete with the competition, it also has a fully digital instrument panel, ambient lighting, and ventilated front seats. Honda Sense ADAS technologies, which include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change assist, and other ADAS functions, have also been introduced to the lineup.
2023 Honda City Variants & Powertrains
Honda will launch a new lower-spec V variant for the powerful hybrid model and a new SV trim for the ICE variant. There will be 2 variants for strong hybrid models and a total of 4 options for the non-hybrid model.

An RDE compliant 1.5-liter NA petrol engine with a manual or CVT transmission will be offered with the 2023 Honda City. The 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle petrol hybrid version paired with an eCVT transmission will also be an available engine option. With the facelift, Honda is disposing the diesel engine.
Verdict: Due to the new feature addition and stylistic modifications, the 2023 Honda City facelift will be more feature-rich and sportier. The lower-spec hybrid variant will attract more customers and the brand may increase the price of the higher ICE variant options. It will continue to compete with the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Volkswagen Virtus.
