- The Kia Seltos, Sonet, and Carens now have BS-6 Phase 2 compliant powertrains

The new 2023 Seltos, Sonet, and Carens from Kia India are now available with new BS-6 Phase 2 compliant powertrain options. The updated lineup now features an improved petrol powertrain that is now E20 fuel compliant. The Smartstream G1.5 T-GDi has taken the place of the Smartstream G1.4 T-GDi turbo petrol engine in Carens. In the Sonet, the1.5 CRDi VGT has taken the position of the Sonet's 1.5 CRDi WGT among the diesel powertrains. The company has also included a few new features in addition to the engine update.

Kia Seltos, Sonet & Carens Features Update
The 6-speed iMT transmission is now a standard transmission in all current Kia India models, including the diesel and petrol turbo versions. With this change, the Manual Transmission is currently only offered in Seltos, Carens, and Sonet versions equipped with Smartstream G1.5 naturally aspirated engines and Smartstream G1.2 variations.
The brand also launched the ISG (Idle Stop Go) feature, which is now standard across all models, along with improvements to the powertrain. The Kia Connect Skill for Amazon Alexa has been introduced as a linked car function and offers a simple connected experience. With this advancement in connected car technology, Kia India offers its customers a function for home-to-car connectivity. By logging into the Amazon Alexa app, customers can link their Alexa device to their automobile. Customers can join their Kia Connect account by going to the "Kia Connect" portion of the "Skills and Games" section of the app. Customers of the EV6 can also use the feature.
Other recent additions for the Sonet include standard ISOFIX in all variants, standard rear seat Head Rest with Up and Down functionality, and standard ESC in diesel iMT variants. The Carens now come with a 4.2-inch cluster for Premium variants and a leather-wrapped gear knob for Premium Plus models.

Kia Seltos, Sonet and Carens - Latest Price
The revised Sonet's price ranges from Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the Seltos' price ranges from Rs 10.89 lakh to Rs 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Kia Carens' pricing ranges from Rs 10.45 lakh to Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict: The brand has raised the price of its whole vehicle lineup in line with the new upgrade, although the price increase is balanced by new features. All three Kia vehicles will become more appealing to customers because of the updated features.
