2023 KTM 390 Adventure - What's New?
The new model of 390 Adventure now offers more hardcore off-road appeal to customers. There have been two significant changes to the bike. These include using new spoked rims & tubeless tyres & a WP adjustable suspension. KTM sells the spoke rim variant globally badged as 'SW'. This is the same version that has been launched in India. The new spoked rims are an anodized, black, aluminium tubeless setup. The front tyre size is 19-inch while the rear is a 17-inch. The plus point of the spoke rims is their durability and easy maintenance. Hence, riders can now easily use the new ADV over rugged terrain and difficult trails without worrying about breaking its rims.
The second change is even more interesting. It now gets a fully rebound & compression adjustable suspension by WP. With this new suspension, the rider can adjust their motorcycles as per the riding environment and terrain requirements. Apart from this, the rest of the motorcycle is nearly the same. The design of the ADV remains unchanged with the same vertical-aligned LED headlights and boomerang LED DRLs. Additionally, the colour schemes are also similar to the standard version. Mind you, KTM recently introduced two new versions of the ADV 390. One is called 'X' which is Rs 80,000 cheaper than the spoke-wheel version. The other one is the standard ADV which is Rs 22,000 cheaper than it.
Verdict
The new Adventure 390 with spoke rims has enhanced the overall appeal of the ADV bike even more. It can now be used fearlessly over rough terrains with the ease of repair of the spoke rims. Meanwhile, the adjustable suspension is the first-in-segment feature that this bike offers. Its rivals in the Indian market are - Royal Enfield Himalayan & BMW G 310 GS.
