Renault RDE Compliant Engine
Now that BS6 phase 2 is approaching, car engines must provide information on Real Driving Emissions, for which they should be outfitted with new devices. To meet up the upcoming norms, all 2023 Renault vehicles will be fitted with a self-diagnostic device upon the implementation of BS VI's second phase. The device, together with other crucial emission equipment like the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, will continuously check the vehicle's emissions while it is in motion.
Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO & Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, Renault India remains committed to Government of Indias vision for clean and green environment. The launch of new BSVI Step 2 compliant petrol engines across the range will ensure substantial reduction in emissions, thus contributing to a safer and cleaner environment.
Renault New Safety Features
The brand has improved the safety features available in its lineup of vehicles in addition to the engine. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Traction Control System (TCS), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are now standard features across the entire 2023 Renault lineup. The Hill Start Assist (HSA), which is a feature of the Kiger and Triber line as well as particular Kwid variants, ensures that consumers receive the full value they expect.

Additionally, Renault India has announced the release of a Kwid model that is more reasonably priced. The company has introduced the Kwid RXE model, which costs Rs. 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model has a manual transmission and a 1.0-liter petrol engine. The TPMS, ESP, hill start aid, and traction control system come standard on this model. A petrol 800cc 3-cylinder engine with 52 bhp of power and 72 Nm of peak torque is also an option for the Kwid.
Verdict: The inclusion of safety features as standard equipment would make Renault automobiles safer, which will help them draw in more buyers. The manufacturer will also be able to stay competitive by updating their engines in preparation of the new regulations. Additionally, the Kwid's newly released RXE model with added safety features will increase its affordability.
