Tata Nexon EV February Discount Offer Details
Not long ago, the government capped the FAME-II subsidy, and hence the rates of Nexon EV went sky-high. According to the new rules, Rs 10,000 per kWh is awarded to EV makers. However, the limit has been capped at 20 percent of the total cost of EVs. Hence, the limit amount became Rs 15 lakh; which Nexon EV does not stand by. Therefore, the rates were increased. But, all thanks to the new PLI scheme for EV makers, Tata has been successfully able to receive much-required help financially and further passed it to the customers. The first effect of this was seen in Jan'23 when Nexon EV Prime got a Rs 50,000 discount and the Nexon EV Max got Rs 85,000 cheaper.
Variant | January Discount* | February Discount* | Total Discount* |
EV Prime | Rs 50,000 | Rs 90,000 | Rs 1.4 Lakh |
EV Max | Rs 85,000 | Rs 80,000 | Rs 1.65 Lakh |
Meanwhile, continuing this series of discounts, the February offer has further reduced its overall pricing. As per the new details, the EV Prime is now cheap by up to Rs 90,000 whilst the EV Max has got a discount of Rs 80,000. Hence, the total amount of January & February has made the EV Max cheaper by up to Rs 1.65 lakh and the EV Prime by up to Rs 1.4 lakh. Moreover, there are further indications that it might become more cost-effective in the future. This is primarily due to the Mahindra XUV 400 launch. The rival offers more space, a bigger battery, & enhanced performance. Hence, to remain relevant, Tata might offer more discounts in the forthcoming future.
**Note: The discounts are valid on MY2022 vehicles only.
Verdict
The Nexon EV enjoys a tremendous market share of more than 80 percent. However, with the entry of new equally capable rivals, Nexon needs to remain relevant. Hence, the new discount offers shall keep the buyers incoming for Tata. If you're planning to buy the Nexon EV, it is a good time.
