Tata Nexon Facelift Pure S Variant
The front of the SUV shares a similar profile with the top-tier models. It boasts new LED DRLs that also serve as turn indicators, LED headlamps, and a blacked-out treatment on the lower front bumper. However, it's worth noting that this variant does not come equipped with fog lamps.
Moving to the side profile, it features steel wheels with covers, black door handles, and blacked-out Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated turn indicators. Additionally, the roof rails have a silver finish. At the rear, you'll find LED tail lamps that are akin to the ones found on the higher-end variants. It's worth mentioning, though, that the Pure S variant lacks a rear wiper and defogger.
Inside the cabin of the Nexon Pure S, you'll find a familiar two-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated Tata logo. The dashboard sports a digital instrument cluster with a Multi-Information Display (MID) and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Notably, the Pure S variant lacks automatic climate control, but it does come with new controls for the HVAC system.
In terms of audio, this variant is equipped with a 4-speaker setup featuring 2 tweeters. It also offers the convenience of all four power windows, drive mode selection, and steering-mounted controls, among other features. However, it's important to note that the Pure S variant doesn't include any soft-touch materials, a rear parcel tray, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and several other amenities available in the higher trim levels.

The refreshed Nexon offers a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. You have the flexibility to choose between a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, six-speed AMT, or seven-speed DCT (available for top-tier variants) transmission options with this engine. Alternatively, there is a 1.5-liter diesel engine producing 113bhp and 260Nm of torque, which is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT transmission.
Verdict
The 2023 Nexon has undergone numerous updates, and even the mid-level variants like the Pure will provide a substantial set of features. While the pricing for the SUV has not been disclosed yet, it is anticipated to see an increase compared to the current generation. The Nexon facelift will remain in competition with other sub-4 metre SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, KIA Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and others.
